Olha Stryutska is a calligrapher and illustrator who came to Estonia as a volunteer in 2023 and became a resident artist at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Tallinn. She designs and illustrates a variety of works including books, calendars, and posters in Ukrainian and contemporary styles. She is also focused on a variety of calligraphy styles and uses them to educate those who use Latin alphabets about the differences between Ukrainian and Russian writing and sounds. Over time, Olha has more purposely focused on speaking about Ukraine in her work and sees it as her way of contributing to her country’s defense.
